New York, NY (PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- Robert Isbitts, founder and chief investment strategist of Sungarden Investment Research, has accepted an invitation to be a founding member of the FA today Chairman's Club, a group of accomplished business leaders who will set the direction for FAtoday.com, the digital platform for Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) only.
The Chairman's Club is an exclusive advisory board that provides active guidance for FA today. Members are some of the site's most active members, posting comments and setting an example for other members on high standards of professionalism and successful practice management. Chairman's Club members also take a lead role in providing feedback to FA today to improve the website and make it more useful to its IFA members.
FAtoday.com, which recently had its beta release launch, offers personalized, professional news feeds and a digital professional environment exclusively for IFAs. Only validated IFAs are eligible for membership. Using a combination of intelligent filtering and behavioral modeling, FA today serves members the content that is most interesting and useful to them from a variety of relevant sources in one place.
The appointment was made this week by Jason Bishara, president of FA today, Inc., after Isbitts accepted his personal invitation. Chairman's Club members are invited to join based on their widely recognized leadership qualities, digital savvy, and demonstrated success running an IFA practice.
"Rob is ideal as a Chairman's Club member," Bishara said. "He is a bridge between our content providers and our financial advisors because he is both. As a top advisor and creator of a widely used investment strategy, he shares our vision that FA today is a great way to extend his own practice," Bishara said.
Isbitts started his practice, Sungarden Investment Research, in 2012, which specializes in managing portfolios using three investment strategies, each with a different primary objective: Cash Flow, Capital Preservation and Long-Term Growth.
Isbitts is the former Chief Investment Strategist of Carson Wealth Management, where he oversaw the firm’s multi-billion dollar asset base. He was a co-founder and former Chief Investment Officer of Emerald Asset Advisors. He also lead-managed two mutual funds for Emerald Allocation Strategies.
He authored two books, "The Flexible Investing Playbook" and "Wall Street’s Bull and How to Bear It." He has published more than 100 investment articles and commentaries and serves as an investment columnist for RIAbiz.com. He is an experienced speaker and communicator, having presented at many investment industry conferences.
"I am pleased to have been invited to help FAtoday.com reach the independent financial advisor community by participating as both a content provider and in the Chairman's Club," Isbitts said. "I see the potential of bringing advisors who are located across the U.S. into a community that offers targeted news and information that helps them build their practices -- similar to what wirehouse advisors have at their disposal."
In addition to serving as a Chairman's Club member, he served on the investment committee of the Jewish Community Foundation of Broward County for several years and is a long-time board of member of the Daniel D. Cantor Senior Center. He also has mentored students through Nova Southeastern University.
Originally from Fair Lawn, N.J., Isbitts and his wife, Dana, are building their business together while raising their three children in south Florida.

Sungarden is a proactive, professional investment team established to provide results to a limited number of clients. Our approach to investing and financial markets allows our clients (both investors and financial advisors) to gain knowledge, control and confidence over their investment strategy. Sungarden provides clients with uncommon flexibility in accessing our intelligence and resources. We can run their entire investment process, or only a portion of it. We offer a refreshing, cost-effective alternative to mutual funds and “managed” accounts. Sungarden’s team are hedged investors, but not a hedge fund. Using a variety of tools, we prioritize the management of volatility and manage three distinct investment strategies, each with a different primary objective: Cash Flow, Capital Preservation and Long-Term Growth. Our strategies are comprised of individual stocks, supplemented with a small number of specialized ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds) and/or mutual funds to complete the portfolio. Our founder (Rob Isbitts) has deep investment experience over twenty five years across different market conditions. Sungarden takes a business person’s approach to investing by prioritizing the management of market volatility and investing to real-life objectives, not to superficial benchmarks.
